Campground website: Boulder Creek RV Resort

Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):
3.0/5: We ended up being parked in a "pull in" spot in a section apart from most of the campground. This meant we had a large site and very few neighbors for most of our visit. Even with neighbors, the sites are quite large and offered decent separation. The sites in the main area of the campground were a bit more typical, but still reasonably spacious for a commercial park.
Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):
4.5/5: For exploring the southern section of US 395, you can't get much better than this. While nothing is within walking distance, a quick drive takes you into the heart of the Alabama Hills, to Manzanar National Historic Site, or to downtown Lone Pine. You're about an hour south of Bishop which offers more shopping and dining options. This is a pretty remote area of the state, but if you're looking to explore the eastern side of the Sierras, it's a good place to set up.
Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):
5.0/5: Our site was large, level, and the utilities were well placed. We had good internet service and no issues getting in or out of the site. Campground roads are plenty wide enough to maneuver through.
Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, campground wifi, and staff):
5.0/5: You can book sites online, but I ended up calling. They had to work hard to find us a spot because we were visiting over Memorial Day weekend, but they were able to get us in. When making the reservation, the staff member said he would check with the manager to see if he could offer us the weekly rate, even though it was over a holiday. He later confirmed that we could get the discounted rate which I appreciated very much. They also didn't require a deposit to hold the site, just a credit card number for no-shows - another nice perk. We had some packages delivered to us here, used the very large dog park, and the nicely maintained pool. They even offer coffee and muffins each morning in the main building, which we thought was a nice touch. All in all, they run a nice operation and try to make guests feel welcome.
Overall Value Rating (the overall value of the campground; was it overpriced for what it was?):
5.0/5: Given this campground's convenient location, nice sites, and useful amenities, we thought the price we paid was very fair. The full nightly cost is quite high, but with the weekly discount, we found it to be reasonable.
Summary:
We enjoyed our stay at Boulder Creek RV Resort. The park is large, well maintained, and offers some nice amenities. The location is convenient, the staff were friendly, and we appreciated that they made an effort to get us a discounted rate. If you're visiting Lone Pine and want or need hook-ups, this is an excellent option.
