Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):
1/5: Sites are very close to one another with minimal separation. Most sites are pull throughs and they are set up on an angle, so it's not the worst we've seen, but it's definitely not great. (When our neighbor had his awning extended, we could have touched it from our window. It was that close.)
Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):
4.5/5: This campground is located about 1.5 miles from the main downtown area of Bishop. There are a couple shops within easy walking distance of the campground. Otherwise, jump in your car or on a bike, and you can be downtown in just a few minutes. Bishop itself is located right on US 395, so it's an ideal spot to set up for a week or two to explore the Eastern Sierras.
Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):
2.0/5: While our utilities were fine, getting into and out of these sites was way harder than we expected. The sites are all pull throughs, but there are concrete patios built onto each site and in order to not run over those raised patios with our tires, we had to move over to the driver's side a bit. The problem with that is, the utility box is very close on the driver's side. So close that the first time we set up, our slide would have hit the pole. So we had to adjust farther to the passenger side, but that meant straddling the concrete patio. We saw numerous RVers have to make multiple attempts to get situated correctly. If they just used lower utility poles, it would solve most of the problem, but in the meantime, just beware, it could be more difficult to get into your site than it looks.
Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, campground wifi, and staff):
4.0/5: There is no online booking option, but we appreciated that they didn't require a deposit when we made our reservation by phone. They take your credit card number, but only charge you if you no-show, which was nice. The person at the front desk was friendly enough as were the other staff we encountered.
Overall Value Rating (the overall value of the campground; was it overpriced for what it was?):
5.0/5: We got the weekly rate, so we paid about $40 per night. We thought that was perfectly reasonable given this park's excellent location and nice appearance.
Summary:
This is a pretty typical commercial campground which provided us very good access to the places we wanted to visit for a reasonable price. Big rig owners should be prepared for very close spaces and minimal wiggle room when setting up, but once you get situated, it's a decent spot. It's just not the kind of place you're going to want to sit outside - unless you like looking at lots and lots of RVs.
