Introduction:

This is a very small campground located on a beautiful lake (Lake Seminole). If you can grab one of the lakeside spots, the views are fantastic.

The Basics:

Overall Rating: 4.4/5

Price per night / Discounts: $19 / None

Campground website: Three Rivers State Park

Our Site #: 14

Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):

4/5: Our site, #14 was pretty spacious and had decent separation. Some of the sites are parallel to the lake while others are perpendicular. Ours was perpendicular. There's not much consistency among the sites. Some are closer than others. None of the sites are bad, but knowing what we know now, we might try to get a site that was parallel to the lake, just so we would have a better view from inside the RV. There are a lot of trees and bushes throughout the campground, which makes everything feel a bit more private.

Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):

4.5/5: This park is reasonably sized and has the lake right there, so it's great for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. There are also a couple trails that run through the park for hiking. We used this park as a jumping off point to go check out Florida Caverns State Park, which is about 25 minutes away, and Wakulla Springs State Park, which is about an hour away. We also had access to the stores we needed, though there are not a ton of attractions within the town itself. As for accessibility from the highway, it wasn't all that far. Maybe 10 minutes off I-10.

Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):

4.25/5: Our site had water and electric, both of which worked fine. We utilized the campground dump station on the way out. It was easily accessible and we had no problems. Given the price of $16 per night (plus fees and taxes which brought it to $19 per night), we were very happy with the campground amenities. The campground roads were well maintained, with a couple tight turns, but nothing terrible. We did need to use a number of leveling blocks to get level.

Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, and staff):

5/5: Like all the Florida State Parks, this one had all the info we needed online and they utilize the awesome Reserve America system. We interacted with the campground staff a handful of times and they were always extremely friendly and helpful. Their office hours are very limited, however, when we asked one of the hosts about renting a canoe, he happily went and opened the office to allow us to get one. All of the Rangers we've dealt with in the Florida State Park system have been very friendly, and this one was no different.

Internet Availability Rating (Verizon coverage or campground wifi):

4/5: Verizon was available. It wasn't the strongest signal we've had, but it was enough for us to get by. There was no wifi.

Summary:

$19.00 per night for water and electric and a waterfront campsite seemed more than reasonable to us. The sites were nice and felt pretty private. With the lake, there is a lot to do, and there is plenty to see and do within driving distance of the campground. Plus, it was convenient to I-10. If we had it all to do over again, we would have stayed here a bit longer. We really enjoyed our visit.
