Introduction:
This is an awesome campground located just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen. We ended up using 3 different sites across our 11 day stay. Some were better than others, but compared to your average commercial RV park, they were all fantastic.

The Basics:
Overall Rating: 4.7/5
Price per night / Discounts: $35 / None
Campground website: Grayton Beach State Park
Our Site #: 44, 46, 49
Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):
5/5: There's a newer loop with full hook ups and an older loop with water and electric. All three of our sites were in the newer loop. The older loop spaces have more vegetation, and therefore, more privacy, but they are definitely easier for smaller rigs. All of our sites were offset from our neighbors and featured a large amount of vegetation that provided privacy. The sites themselves are very large and the picnic areas are set back from the road, so they really feel private. Our favorite site was #46. There was no one even close to us on our patio side. Sites 44 and 49 were a little closer to the neighbors, but they were still fine.
Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):
5/5: You can walk to one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen, right from your site. It's incredible! Plus, there are a number of restaurants within easy biking distance, if not walking distance, right outside the gates of the park. Everything else you could possibly need is within a few minutes drive. It is a spectacular location.
Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):
4/5: All 3 sites we were in had great hookups that were well placed and convenient. Unfortunately, not all sites are created equal with regard to how level they are. Site #46 required a fair number of leveling blocks. Site #49 required none. Site #44 required every single one we had. It was in terrible need of grading. I would definitely advise being careful of sites in the older loop if you're over 35 feet. While some sites could certainly accommodate you, others would be tight.
Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, and staff):
4.5/5: Like all the Florida State Parks, this one had all the info we needed online and they utilize the awesome Reserve America system. We interacted with the campground staff a handful of times and they were generally friendly and helpful. We did get an earful when we told them we had moved to our next site one morning before letting the office know, and they also remarked that they weren't crazy about everyone having packages sent to the campground. Seemed a little unnecessary to complain about, but whatever.
Internet Availability Rating (Verizon coverage or campground wifi):
5/5: Verizon was available and generally, we had no problems. There was no wifi.
Summary:
Because we extended our stays, we got stuck paying some additional fees, so our average cost per night was $35. It would probably be a bit less if we had one single reservation instead of multiple. Given the location and quality of the park, even that price is a steal. Other than the grading problems at some of the sites and the somewhat grumpy office staff, we had zero complaints. We will definitely be back.
